Q: The team managed to achieve a 6-winning streak at the beginning of this summer split. How did the whole team keep in such a good form?
knight: We are quite concentrated in scrims and have been practicing diligently despite the good scores.
369:
I think it’s … it’s … it’s … because we conduct trainings normally.

Q: What made the team uncommonly ban Ziggs in the first round of Ban Picks in all three games?
369:
EDG rotated its ADC player to BBD today, who we thought might have some unusual picks, so we chose to ban Ziggs through the entire match.

Q: EDG had a nice performance and won the game 1. What do you think of EDG’s first game today?
knight:
Today’s game 1 started at 7 o’clock and EDG is unbeatable at 7 p.m. And we also made some mistakes in that game.
(EDG’s leading player, Clearlove, who used to be a jungler and now is the team’s head coach, had a nickname of “777” for he changed his ID to clearlove7 after the loss in the 2016 Worlds. So the audience and fans believed that the team is blessed by the number “7”. And coincidently, this summer split, despite the undesired overall scores, EDG has a 100% win rate of game 1 if the game 1 started at 7 p.m.)

Q: What made you pick Kennen in game 2? It’s the first time for the champion to be picked on the LPL stage this summer split.
369:
I am targeted by opponent players, so I picked a flexible champion who’s hard to be ganked.

Q: The team has been testing different composition styles and champions this split, some of which may even not be competitive options in the recent patches. What made the team confident to have bold attempts in official games?
knight:
I am not sure. Maybe all our members are confident about ourselves and dare play champions that we haven’t practiced in scrims in official games.

Q: TES seems to be quite overwhelming this summer split, for the team manage to achieve a 100% match win rate up to now and lead in many crucial indicators. What do you think of the team’s performance and form this split? Is there any improvement to be made?
knight:
We had up-and-downs in form as well, but we are trying to keep a good state. And we need to make fewer mistakes in the early game.
369: We are not in our best form now because we won the recent matches with great difficulties. We have to further improve our synergy.

Q: In my previous interview with Karsa, he commented that knight is the most well-behaved player while 369 is the most mischievous one. Which word would you two pick to label Karsa?
knight:
Karsa is a nice person and takes good care of us. (Karsa is the eldest player among members.)
369: Quadratic dimensions (more precisely, にじげん in Japanese). He likes animation, comics and games (which are all composed of two-dimensional images).

Q: knight and 369 have been teammates since 2019. How would you grade each other out of 100 for his performance at the beginning of this summer split?
knight:
90 points, because of “999”.
(The LPL fans and audience think of 369’s performance as rolling dice. If he performs poorly, we call it “333”. If he carries the game, we call it “999”.)
369: 100, full mark. knight is always the best mid laner in my mind.

Q: At last, is there anything you want to say to your fans?
knight:
Thanks a lot for always supporting us. We’ll perform better in the following matches and try our best to maintain the winning streak.
369: I hope all our fans and audience can have fun and eat well during the Dragon Boat Festival.
